Judges decisions are final

As some of you may know, before the deadline hit, if an entrant emailed me because his video was declined for a reason he did not understand or agree with, I tried my best to help.  For example, if the video was "not viewable" I helped to discover if it was because a URL was mistyped or the embedding code was disabled.  However, now that the deadline has passed (about a week ago), I am unable to have videos reconsidered for any reason.  Thus it is too late to change any decisions made regarding videos that were regretfully declined, even if they were entered on time.  The judges are hard at work determining the 10-semi finalists and no new videos will be considered.  However, I am still available to answer any questions you may have. 

Sorry, cannot accept entries past the deadline

I have received a few emails from people who for some reason or another were not able to get their commercials submitted on time.  Unfortunately, Heinz is bound to the rules which state: "Registration must be completed by 11:59:59 pm ET on March 14, 2008 or your Commercial will not be submitted into the review process for the Contest."  No matter how many of my heart-strings you pull with why you could not get your video in on time, there is nothing I can do to help now that the deadline has passed =(

It is now passed the deadline, 11:59:59 PM ET, March 14, 2008.  Entries will no longer be accepted.  I hope you got your videos in on time!

It's wise to submit your commercial sooner than later.  If for some reason your video is declined, all you have to do is fix what is wrong and resubmit it.... that is if there is still time left.  If you wait until just before the deadline to submit your video and it is regretfully declined, you will not have the gift of time to fix what is wrong and resubmit for another chance.

Top This Tip #1 -- get started sooner than later!

Don't wait until the last minute to upload and register your commercial!  Even with a high-speed connection, it can take up to 5 minutes for every 1MB of video to upload.  Remember the deadline to upload your commercial on YouTube and register it on www.TopThisTV.com is 11:59:59 EST, March 14, 2008.

Besides just getting your commercial in before the deadline, you may find other benefits to submitting your commercial sooner than later.  Although you may be heart broken at first to receive a confirmation email telling you your video has been declined because it was a little too long or you accidentally featured a copyrighted song or any other reason, all you have to do is fix what is wrong and resubmit it.  But if you wait until right before the deadline to submit your video and it is regretfully declined, you will not have the gift of time to fix what is wrong and resubmit for another chance.  What are you waiting for?  Get those cameras rolling!
